Heart-To-Heart Ministry
HEART-to-HEART Ministry provides a faith-support system for living the Christian life. We belong to the Church at different levels: the parish church, where we gather weekly for the celebration of the Eucharist, and our households/families are the "domestic Church" - where we daily live out our Christian lives. The link between the parish church and the "domestic Church" is the HEART-to-HEART ministry. It is also an opportunity for people to build up and strengthen our faith and relationships with one another as we help each other.
Who belongs?
Every adult member of the Church of Saint Paul belongs to the HEART-to-HEART Ministry. When a person or a family joins the parish, they are grouped by geographic areas, since part of our uniqueness is that parishioners span the seven-county area. There are small clusters of parishioners in most areas with willing coordinators.
What are some of the activities that HEART-to-HEART does?
HEART-to-HEART serves others in various ways: through bringing meals, providing rides, babysitting, filling food shelves, providing services at nursing homes, and referring others to places where help can be found. HEART-to-HEART provides assistance at the church for funeral meals and help to the family of the deceased.
How do I get involved in HEART-to-HEART
Each year parishioners will complete a survey of how they are willing to help. When needs arise in your area, a caller will contact you to see if you are available to help out at that time. Sometimes requests are published in the bulletin. And don't forget, pray for those who are in your HEART-to-HEART area and for our entire parish. Prayer unites us in the Spirit.
What if I or someone I know has a need?
Call the office (763-757-6910) and ask for Judy Van Den Broeke. She is our staff coordinator for this ministry. She works with several volunteers who assist with telephoning and follow-up with families. If you would like to help in this administrative way, you can give her a call as well.
