Pastoral Care
The Pastoral care of parishioners is a vital ministry of our parish. In many cases it is carried on informally through friendships and relationships that are developed by active participation in Neighborhoods.
A number of ministries provide special assistance such as:
- The Bread of Life Ministry brings the Eucharist to those parishioners who are ill or homebound;
- Pastoral Care Ministers are specially trained to pray for the healing and guidance of those in need;
- The Prayer Line receives calls to pray for the needs of parishioners or the parish;
- The Eternal Life Ministry helps those parishioners who have had a death in the family plan a vigil, a funeral liturgy, and the rite of committal;
- The Family Health Care Ministry provides a variety of health-related services for parishioners including respite care, an annual blood drive, first aid and CPR classes, blood pressure checks, a parish nurse, etc.
- The Christian Finance Ministry teaches the way God intended us to deal with the financial resources He has given us, and they counsel those who are experiencing financial difficulties;
- Car Care Clinics help those in financial need with minor car maintenance issues;
- "Seniors In His Service" is an active, vital part of our parish, using their gifts and service;
- Sharing and Caring Hands - once a month parishioners serve a lunch, provided by the church, to the homeless in Minneapolis;
